BIO

To any new readers, or those of you who may not know; my name is Jason Renard Walker, a 39 year old writer, activist, and organizer located in the Texas prison system (for the past 11 years).

I began publishing my work in 2014, in an effort to expose the abusive and barbaric conditions of solitary confinement I witnessed for 7 years. This exposure helped me build a writers platform and support circle of protection from retaliating guards and staff.

The purpose of Jason’s Prison Journal is to further build my platform, concentrate my writings to one location, create positive change for society and those reentering it, strengthen my pursuit of becoming a professional writer, and draw the interest of lawyers and media reps that actually care.

Prison artwork, photos of supporters and family as well as writings of others will gradually appear on this site.

I am also Minister of Labor for the New African Black Panther Party (NABPP); a prison based organization carrying on the legacy of the original Black Panther Party, in the hope of forming an organization outside the prison walls.

If anyone is interested in any info not contained here, or my position in our organization, you can reach me via: snail mail, jpay.com, or email (jasonmol3838@gmail.com). Your critique on my posts are welcomed.

Lastly I’d like to say thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way (way too many to name) including those who are my readers but haven’t reached out to me yet.
