Resisting Wartime Trump in an Era of Political Ignorance
What we need in working-class communities and even in prisons is access to more aggressive grassroots workshops that are specifically aimed at teaching the common folks how to think critically about this two-party political system that is of and for the ruling class. All these “fed up” podcasts and “now’s the time to vote” periodicals are only telling observers something is wrong and to vote out of it, with little substance or the ability to interactively debate misinformation or struggle against impractical solutions. The ones that seem to hold this standard are more geared towards promoting a viewpoint and are often short-lived due to lack of commitment.
That means there have to be more anti-establishment activists willing to use their own periodical and platform to invest in these kinds of conscious-raising projects that are time-consuming, yet vital.
Politics are basically concentrated economics, and the ultimate political agenda of the ruling class is to do whatever is necessary to make them more powerful and more rich, while making it seem like they are fighting for the poor. To understand what’s going on in the political sphere you have to understand the currency and in most cases the currency is commodities in the shape of raw materials, precious metals, and staples like wheat and soybeans.
Commodities are a big source of trade on the global market and can either serve as a huge source of profits for some countries or a big cost for others. In places like Russia, China, South America and the Middle East, following the currency means following the oil; if that isn’t understood in its most simple form, then a big part of politics is missed.
The bourgeois elite actually prefer this two-party system because, outside of giving us a ‘this or that’ choice, it allows them to hide the reality of their dictatorship over the working class and their exploitation of defenseless countries’ resources at the cost of child labor and extortion. And in a loop, no matter which party is in office, it’s the ruling class that is in power. So we must always be wary of charismatic Democratic Socialists like Bernie Sanders and AOC, who pose as oppositionists to big tech billionaires through taxing-the-rich rhetoric. Take a look a look around, they are benefiting too. And they will never put class exploitation or ownership of the means of production up for a vote.
For them to imply that socialism can be attained through bourgeois elections is nothing more than “parliamentary cretinism” and obfuscation.
In the meantime, the Trump administration has instigated an unprovoked, full scale war on Iran and is refusing to own up to it. Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, says the U.S. didn’t declare war, therefore there is no war. But this is him changing stances from claiming the U.S. is finishing a war started by non-U.S. influences, after their highs came down and the reality they’d committed war crimes kicked in.
Republicans like Lindsey Graham are following suit with this lie, yet they have failed to collectively agree why the U.S. is even there and what triggered the attacks.
A question that has surfaced which pundits are debating is whether Israel forced Donald Trump into a war with Iran. Marco Rubio sure tried to make the case in a press release, by suggesting Trump struck first because Israel was planning an initial attack on Iran that would trigger the country into bombing U.S. emissaries, putting U.S. troops, already in the Middle East, in more danger. Well if that were true, things sure didn’t go well, as six U.S. soldiers were killed in retaliatory strikes by Iran. And it has now been proven that the makeshift facility in Kuwait they were stationed at wasn’t built to protect against aerial attacks. This is something MAGA is railing to keep out of the media.
Trump denounced Rubio’s claim and has been outspoken in confirming that the U.S. is in a war he may have dragged Netanyahu into. He hasn’t been shy about doubling down on this claim, in light of his MAGA colleagues’ various sketchy justifications to the contrary. But these variations of what is really going on might be a ‘flood the zone’ strategy to send the Democrats down multiple rabbit holes.
Remember, Trump has established that he is MAGA and sees the Republican party as an expendable cheat code drawn from a game of Risk that only he has the talisman to play in god mode. So there is still a sense of loyalty he is getting from within. It is hard to fathom that they were all briefed to deny being at war, but unsynchronized in their explanations why.
But nobody needs Trump to confirm anything. He is a repulsive liar and may have only taken credit as the aggressor because any scenario where he seems to have been manipulated automatically triggers his bravado into a defensive stance. Meaning if the Rubio scenario were true, it clearly gives him the appearance of being a paranoid pearl-clutcher. A direct blow to his already fragile ego.
While bombs burst, buildings crumble, and torpedoes sink Iranian sea vessels, U.S. citizens scramble to evacuate the entire Middle East, as it is slowly engulfing in flames. Iran has shut down traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a passage of sea where 20% of the world’s oil is imported/exported, resulting in gas prices rising 35¢ per gallon, oil companies price-gouging, stocks plunging and the war costing tax payers over $800 million per day.
This is a slap in the face to the men and women affected by the partial government shutdown that is ongoing because Democrats refuse to vote on a bill that gives DHS more funding. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was just fired following a grilling on Capitol Hill, where she refused to admit or deny she’d had a sexual relationship with a subordinate co-worker and lied under oath that Trump approved her $200 million deportation glamour ad. War-denier U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin will replace Noem later this month after a confirmation hearing.
This is just the Trump administration one year in with three to go, and that’s only if there isn’t a massive struggle by him and his cronies to take a shot at staying in power. That’s why culture is key, education is a must and mobilizing to resist is important. We are not living in normal times, this is an era where wartime Trump is continuing to level up in a plight to consolidate power. And the Democrat party is doing nothing but selling the people this let-the-system-work-it-out stall tactic.
There will always be antagonisms between the power structure and the working class, but the antagonisms among the people themselves can always be worked out and eliminated so that a common bond is formed and unity established. Four of the biggest antagonisms dividing the working class are racism, sexism, misogyny and xenophobia. Each of these antagonisms is a direct product of capitalism and the divide-and-conquer ploy of the ruling class. Their presence makes unity difficult, and they must be confronted, educated on, struggled against and rooted out if there ever will be a common fight.
These acts of resistance must go far beyond ‘No Kings’ rallies and then it’s back to work or individualized content-creating. There has to be a level of solidarity built from within the working-class communities upwards so that the strength of numbers can create public opinion where there is none and in favor of a mass level of resistance, and then the creation of a real opposition party — one with a theory that’s built not to share the burden of the ruling class, but rather to organize towards replacing it and the capitalist system it is beholden to.
The Trump administration is a fascist regime shrouded in fear-mongering and racist deeds and should be treated and taken seriously as such. What’s at stake for Trump and MAGA is a fear that the white race is fading out thus the end of white supremacy in the U.S. and eventually in Western Europe — which is why he publicly invited migrants from there and South Africa to become U.S. citizens under the pretense of being persecuted.
There are huge numbers of undocumented migrants from Europe and Canada who aren’t being stalked and targeted by ICE. So it is clear that Trump isn’t concerned about migrants entering the U.S. he’s concerned about their race and the fear of whites becoming a minority. The U.S. has a long documented history of attempts to wipe out non-white races through drugs, diseases, policies and mass incarceration.
It is a fact that the white race will one day become the minority in the U.S. and this does not scare most white people who can adjust and won’t feel any negative impacts. But there are a small group who are panicking and being incited by bigots like Trump and admirers of Hitler like far-right white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA organization is an example of white nationalist views (disguised as religious critical thinking debate clubs) being given a home on university campuses to target politically naive teens while their brains are ripe and views unexplored. Before he was killed, Kirk used this organization as a cover to promote white supremacist ideas and hate through debates. At this point it had an $80 million dollar budget with over 250,000 student members nationwide. Texas Governor Greg Abbott was so impressed that he cleared a path for these organizations to receive more funding to hit campuses all across the state.
Fear and hatred is the driving force to the Trump administration. It is a weapon every fascist regime keeps in its arsenal. In order for them to build momentum and support, they first have to produce fear. In response this fear will turn to hatred, then the person will react in an irrational way that only benefits the regime. Before soldiers are sent into wars they are primed in a similar way through rally songs.
The January 6 insurrection is a prime example of a group of people reacting to having fear and hatred pumped into them by Trump. FOX News serves as a vehicle for manufacturing fear by continuously lying, or airing untrue information with the goal of producing hate in their viewers.
This is one tool that has kept working-class communities divided along party lines. Regardless of your political stance, if you are not at the table with the ruling class, as the cliché goes, you are on the menu.
